Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing coaching for yourself or a loved one is an important decision. Below are answers to common questions.

Who is coaching for?
Root to Rise is for teens and adults who want support building healthier routines, greater confidence, and sustainable habits. Whether you're navigating a life transition, struggling with consistency, looking for accountability, or wanting to improve your overall well-being, coaching can help.
Do I need to be neurodivergent to work with you?

No. Root to Rise is open to everyone.

I have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, autism, Down syndrome, and anxiety, and my coaching approach is flexible and inclusive. However, coaching is available to anyone looking for support, structure, and personal growth.

Is coaching the same as therapy?

No.

Therapy often focuses on diagnosing, treating, and healing mental health concerns. Coaching focuses on helping you move forward by building habits, routines, confidence, and practical strategies that support your goals.

Coaching is not a replacement for therapy or mental health treatment.

What topics can we work on together?

Topics may include:

  • Building healthy routines
  • Movement and exercise habits
  • Nutrition and meal planning
  • Self-confidence and self-trust
  • Accountability and consistency
  • Stress management and self-care
  • Independence and life skills
  • Goal setting and personal growth
Do I need to be fit before starting?

Not at all.

Coaching is designed to meet you where you are. We start with your current abilities, experience, and comfort level, then build from there.

How are sessions delivered?
Sessions are offered online through video calls, making support accessible from wherever you are.
Will I get a personalized plan?

Yes.

Each program is tailored to your goals, lifestyle, strengths, challenges, and preferences. There is no one-size-fits-all approach.

What if I've struggled to stay consistent in the past?

You're not alone.

Many people don't need more motivation; they need a system that works for them. Coaching focuses on creating realistic habits and routines that feel sustainable rather than overwhelming.

Can parents or caregivers be involved?

Absolutely.

Parent and caregiver support can be incorporated when appropriate. The goal is to create consistency and support both for the participant and the people helping them succeed.

Funding and Insurance Questions

Root to Rise Coaching services are generally private-pay. Because we provide strictly non-clinical, educational coaching, our services are not billed as regulated healthcare or medical treatments (such as psychology, occupational therapy, or dietetics).

However, some families may be able to utilize community funding, caregiver relief hours, individualized funding, or self-directed transition support budgets, depending on their unique provincial programs or plan specifics.

We provide formal receipts for all services rendered. Please note that a receipt does not guarantee reimbursement. We encourage clients to confirm eligibility directly with their insurer, funding coordinator, case worker, or program administrator prior to beginning coaching.

What makes Root to Rise different?

Root to Rise combines movement, nutrition, wellness, and habit-building into one coaching experience.

Rather than focusing on perfection, the goal is to help you build confidence, self-trust, and sustainable habits that support long-term growth.

Support that meets you where you are.

Confidence built through bravery. 🌱
